Why Making an EOFY Donation is the Smart Way to Donate
End of Financial Year (EOFY) can be a hectic time for many; especially as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grip the world. Year on year, we hear about organisations asking for additional donations at the end of the financial year; why? Well, in Australia, donations to charities can be partly or completely tax deductible. Meaning; while you might part with some cash between now and June 30, you’ll be able to claim your donations in your tax return - amazing!

What better way is there to start a discussion then over a drink?
This Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28) we’re taking that statement literally - by asking our supporters to make a Bloody Mary and open the discussion around menstrual health and its importance.

Periods without Plastic
For billions of girls worldwide, we all know the feeling when “that time of the month” has arrived. We groan, get up, and most likely reach for either a tampon or a pad. Every day of our cycle, we discard sanitary products without a second thought. But there is a quiet consequence to the way so many of us handle our periods: plastic.
Periods and Pandemics: The world may have paused due to lockdown, but menstruation certainly hasn’t
It’s no secret stress and anxiety can seriously mess up our monthly cycle. As we all learned new terms such as “social distancing”, “essential workers”, and “flattening the curve”, it should have come as no surprise our constantly changing restrictions impacted the arrival of Aunt Flo.
Trust Your Gut, Break the Stigma
After grieving the loss of my former self (before the pain took over my life), over the years I have come to relearn who I am with the condition and I have attempted to restructure my life to reflect a more manageable lifestyle. I don’t shy away from discussing endometriosis/period pain with others, in fact I invite the conversation. I am not embarrassed or afraid of what people think of me when I talk about my periods, I take the opportunity to educate others around me. I feel a sense of responsibility to share my experience with endometriosis/period pain with others in the hope it can raise awareness and create much needed discussion.
Endo The Line: No One Was Believing My Pain and so I Started To Not Believe It Either
TB: That sounds incredibly difficult. How did it make you feel having all those doctors disbelieve your pain?
CD: During those years when I didn't have a diagnosis for endo, I felt like a hypochondriac. No one was believing my pain and so I started to not believe it. This sent me into a deep depression. I saw a therapist for three years trying to understand why I was "making up this pain".
Suffer in Silence: The Story of How I Internalised Period Pain Secrecy
While I don’t remember how the rest of the lesson played out, this sequence of events has remained imprinted in my mind. By subtly suggesting that period pain was not a valid reason to have difficulty concentrating, my teacher taught both me and my classmates that period pain was something that should go unaddressed.
The Period Pain Cam-Pain
We became more and more determined that the issue needed to be addressed, and I left the call committed to start a conversation around destigmatizing period pain. And thus, the Period Pain Cam-Pain was born--it’s time to end the myth that debilitating period pain is the norm for all menstruators!
Why The Cova Project’s Documentary is a Must-See
