This Cup Day Make a Sure Bet!

It’s that time of year again, folks! Cup Day! And as always, The Cova Project is encouraging you to place a sure bet.

This Tuesday, November 2nd will mark The Cova Project’s third Cup Day campaign. This year, we’re saying ‘Yup to The Menstrual Cup!’ and going all out, raising money to keep thousands of menstruators in school and menstruating with dignity.

Cup Day is a brilliant way to help us gain awareness for menstrual cups and doubles as a fun way to get involved on November 2nd, if you’re not Melbourne Cup inclined.

Getting involved is simple. You can participate on an individual level or a corporate level.

Individual

It’s you against the world! Instead of betting on Rosie the pony, who may or may not run like the wind bullseye, go to our website and place a donation. We will take your donation, and instead of doubling it or losing it all together, we will ensure it goes directly towards purchasing menstrual health supplies for menstruators living without access to safe sanitary care. No big ups and downs, just guaranteed good outcomes for you and the menstruators! Win, win!

Corporate

Engaging your workplace is a wonderful way to maximise your impact. It’s simple, go have a chat to your HR department, boss or Linda from Finance (who seems to just be in charge because she’s worked there for eleven years). Tell them about The Cova Project’s Cup Day campaign, “Yup to The Menstrual Cup” and how it’s the perfect CSR initiative for the week!

Sometimes, gambling, horse racing and everyone clocking off at 3pm isn’t the best thing for the business but strong corporate social responsibility, that’s a win for everyone!

Here’s what you say,

“Hi Linda, I love your haircut, wondering if you have a few minutes to chat about Melbourne Cup?.... Instead of sweeps this year, I was thinking that we could offer people the chance to support a wonderful grassroots charity called The Cova Project. See, The Cova Project is offering everyone the opportunity to donate $7 instead of betting $7 on the races. Each of these donations will go directly towards purchasing one menstrual cup for menstruators living in low income settings in Uganda. It means that at the end of the day we all walk out of the office a winner, knowing we’ve given a menstruator 10 years of safe and comfortable menstrual management, allowing them to stay in school throughout their entire high school experience. Plus, all donations to The Cova Project are tax deductible, a further win. What do you think?”

Of course, we can only assume at this point that Linda leaps out of her seat and runs through the office chanting, “You’re a genius, you deserve a raise!” but what do we know?

Then, come Cup Day, instruct everyone to visit our website to place their donation or have your workplace place the donation on behalf of the office as one.

It’s that simple.

Make 2021’s Cup Day extraordinary by prioritising a sure bet. A win for you, a win for your workplace and a win for menstruators all over the world.
