Day of the Girl Child 2020

Hello Dear Friend,

Every time you visit you are different. I feel as though as I grow, you change with me. I love that about you. I love that whenever you come around, you make me more me: you put the natural side of me on display. I’m proud of who I am, and proud of the person you make me when you appear in my life. Thank you for that.

Sometimes though, I feel like my voice can be stifled by your big personality. I find myself wishing, even though you are an important part of who I am, that other people didn’t care about you so damn much. I want them to know that just because you’re around doesn’t mean that I am any less worthy.

I treasure you, but I struggle with the fact that you sometimes hold me back.

Regardless, you will always be a part of me, PERIOD.

Love,

The Cova Project
